Hello, My Fellow Next-Door Bloggers!

Like a large number of animal species on earth, a lot of human traditions are now extinct, or endangered. I miss, and many of you might do, the now-extinct over-the-fence camaraderie. Grand- and great-grand parents and their neighbors are gone who used to pass "special" foods over the low-lying wooden fences to their "neighbor cousins."

Gone also is a metropolitan custom of presenting some rice cakes by new movers to their early residents of the apartment. As a result, gone is the scene in which a strange head had popped in and sheepishly announced, saying, "We've just moved." The deliveries had been a convenient means of saying hellos from new movers to old residents. You are now almost kept in the dark about their migrations.

Instead, online affinities of today tend to take the place of offline friendships of yesterday. I run into interesting names and faces of the Global Village, which happen to be my next-door bloggers. Their subjects are intriguing and their electronic gimmicks are the objects of my adoration and reverence which are almost always beyond my knowledge and capability.
